Care to be cool?

What's cool and what's hot?What's happening and what's not?These are the thoughts that preoccupy most part of our young minds.Oh I forgot! Today I am in the role of a telepath on my trip through my class fella's minds.

Sandy is in a dilema over the question of his lifetime-"Was the beard trimmer I bought yesterday successful in taking me an inch closer to Abhishek Bacchan or would the old frenchie have done the trick as always?"Sandhya is in no better position meddling with the strand of her hair she got coloured recently."Badalte Zamane ke saath badalta fashion!" So aptly put.

The "branded bug" has bitten the campus with students just coming out of their uniform cocoons. Bike,babe and bucks remain the age old mantra assuring boys to make them look cool.While nothing seems to pacify girls,they have so much to work on with so tough competition around.

And if you think fashion was the only thing young minds are tenants to,you got it wrong.The young souls have to be Mr./Miss perfects.They have to be the top rankers,would not mind writing a couple of hit songs for the rock band,would settle for nothing less than the central character in the college drmatic society and a 1st prize in the creative writing competition would be an icing on the cake.Buy hey! slow down a bit and once in a while come for a walk with me into your own mind.Watch out! what has happened to us?We want it and want it all in our early twenties.All fame and all success,all style and all grace?Isn't it a bit too much too early?Isn't it a reason of increasing frustations and increasing cases of suicides?

All the time we carry a baggage of what we ought to be on our tender shoulders.It is nothing but what we expect of ourselves,then why does parental pressure have to take the blame every time then?

So my advice to all my friends is let loose for once.Be calm.Be confident.Be what you are.Know what you want from life.Connect to your inner self,recognise your talents and work upon them.Grow an inch every passing day,develop and prepare yourself for the D-day.Success will definitely come to you and this time it will stay longer.So patience and perseverance are the real mantra.All of us care to be cool but do you have nerves of steel to dare to be cool?
